About

Electronics & Telecommunication

The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering is one of the founding departments of St. Xavier's Technical Institute, established in the early 1930s to train Radio Communication Officers for the shipping industry.

Over nine decades, it has evolved into a comprehensive programme covering analog circuits, digital systems, embedded technologies, and modern communication networks. Students receive hands-on training with oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and FPGA development boards.

"From maritime radio rooms to cutting-edge 5G networks — our EXTC department has powered India's telecommunications journey for over nine decades."

The department integrates contemporary topics like IoT, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, and 5G communication into an autonomous curriculum updated in consultation with industry partners.
