Principal's Message

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

It is a great feeling for me and I am fortunate to be a part of this Institute at a time when there are rapid changes in innovation and technology. I joined this Institute as Principal in February 2008, and took it up as a challenge to maintain the tradition of the Institute in being "the first" to host and conduct a number of events and activities. Earlier in the past, as well as during the last decade, St.Xavier's Technical Institute has many ''firsts" to its credit. In the past, the Institute was the first in the country to start a Radar Maintenance course along with other marine courses which were not available anywhere else in the country. The Institute has received numerous Best Polytechnic Awards in the past, the last one in the year 2012, from News makers Broadcasting and Communications (NBC) Pvt. Ltd. Recently, through the last four years, the Institute has been awarded the Best Laboratory Awards in the State of Maharashtra by the MSBTE for its PCB Laboratory and the Communication Laboratory. The Institute has developed Laboratory Manuals for the conduct of laboratory experiences for all the subjects, as a learning resource for all the students. The Institute has achieved and maintained its credibility of being renowned, not only in Mumbai and Maharashtra, but also nationally, and internationally, as part of the St. Xavier's Group. There are several eminent personalities in all fields who have passed through the portals of this great Institute. It is because of this credibility among numerous polytechnics that my task as Principal has been extremely challenging.

Since the time I am here as Principal, I have seen and witnessed the caliber of our staff and students, and I am proud that I took a decision to take up this challenge to be associated with this Institute as Principal.

As Principal, I am fortunate to have dedicated and motivated teaching and non-teaching staff members who have strived to maintain this high quality and contributed towards the development of the Institute, and ensuring that St.Xavier's Technical Institute is, and remains to be one of the best technical institutions in the entire state.

There have been several instances where the staff has put in efforts, the most important being towards satisfying the need to constantly update and revise the curriculum in keeping with the rapidly changing trends in industry, particularly in the field of electronics. The Institute has also always encouraged staff to undertake short term and long term training programs for self development and qualifying themselves for well-deserved promotions in their designation and grades.

It is also very important that I mention here that I am proud of my entire staff for enthusiastically coming forward and giving their extra time and efforts for a number of co-curricular activities like Academic Skills, Vocational Training, Entrepreneurship Practices, and other events. Within six months of my joining, in February 2008, the entire staff was enthusiastic to host and conduct NEXTECH, a State Level Technical Paper Presentation and Project Exhibition Competition. Today in 2019, St. Xavier's Technical Institute can proudly claim that this event has become a regular, yearly National Level Event, for the last eleven years. Besides this, staff members have also extended their cooperation and efforts towards a successful Edu-Tech Expo, an exhibition related to products and services in the field of education and technology, held in January 2013. This event was held for the first time by a polytechnic in the state.

My sincere message to the students of X-TECH is that whatever you do and wherever you go, you must carry the ideals of this Institute in life, the joy of excelling in a world of high technology, and giving the nation its due share of your contribution for its growth and also at the same time, not forgetting human values. This, I believe, is the hallmark of an individual who will pass out of this Institute, not only excelling in academics but also as an all- round developed personality. I am sure that you will make us, your parents and families proud.

I thank each and every one of my staff and I assure all my students that we, at X-TECH extend all our inputs, to ensure that your efforts will certainly bear fruit for yourselves, your family and your future.
